training courses happening this week.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND:

* Any course taught by Tom McSweeney - he is
teaching in Sydney this next month and is
fabulous. I did many courses and training days
with Tom up on the Gold Coast and his courses
are highly sought after.

* Dave Newman has a class with Christine King
Casting - Dave is a great teacher, I trained with
him years ago and the fact that he is now
working in a very busy casting office is
important!! Don't miss.

* Screenwise has some amazing courses. For
the serious actor it is often difficult to find
anything longer than an 8 week course.
Screenwise has yearly programs and Showreel
courses for the more experienced actors that
are wonderful. I have also done lots of training
at Screenwise over the years and the courses
are great. Again - don't miss.

Jack Irish Telemovies move into Production. Filming in Melbourne
The Jack Irish telemovies started shooting on
Monday after seven weeks in pre-production.
Guy Pearce is playing the lead.

Most of the stories revolve around something
which appears quite small, such as finding a
missing person, but "before you know it, it's
turned into a larger than life corporate
conspiracy." Jack therefore meets a lot of
people on the way through, meaning that the
cast size will be comparably large.

They hope that the show will appeal to a broad
demographic. Crime is always popular on
television, but they wanted to create a "crime
show with a distinctive heart." The show will be
character-driven, with a central crime story as
well as sub-plots. While on the surface it's quite
blokey, he also thinks that it will appeal to a
female audience as there is also a love interest
played by Marta Dusseldorp. Jack is a bit out of
practice with women, "which has its own charm
in itself." There's also plenty of humour in the
show.

They're working on a combined budget of $5.6m
for the two telemovies (around $2.8m each). It's
a bit more than the average telemovie cost, but
the flipside is that an actor of Guy's standing
helps to attract finance. "ABC, Screen Australia
and Film Victoria contributed financially , along
with the ZDF Enterprises who are our
international distributor."

They'll be releasing the show for international
sales at MIPTV in March 2012, and they hope
that having Guy Pearce in the show will bring it
some attention, particularly as he's been in the
past two Oscar-winning movies and won an
Emmy for Mildred Pierce.

They expect that the shows will be completed by
about March 2012, but the screening dates are
yet to be set.

competition with his entry 'Sick.'

"We couldn't believe we won. The judges from
the One80Project were amazing and took the
time out of their days to offer advice, introduce
us to people and steer us in the right direction.
We just finished shooting the pilot and couldn`t
be happier with the quality of work and the team
of individuals that we got to work with."

So if you want a shot at the $180,000 production
budget and a share in the $30,000 cash prize
pool, including a cool $10,000 for the winner of
the Public Vote Award, all you need to do is
submit a 180-second pilot and treatment by
January 14 2012.

And in an Optus One80Project first, this year's
competition is also offering a $5000 cash prize
for the best pilot filmed on a mobile phone!

The public vote opens on January 24 2012, and
the top 10 entries will be selected by a panel of
high-profile industry judges and screened at a
live festival event in Sydney in March 2012.

CHRISTINE KING CASTING - 2011 CASTING & AUDITION WORKSHOPS

Christine King Casting will be holding four final
Sydney audition and casting workshops for 2011
in November. These will be held at our office
and studio. These workshops will cover all
aspects of casting and the audition process.

Dave Newman, who has been a casting director
and associate at Christine King Casting for over
5 years, will conduct the workshops. Dave has
been personally involved in thousands of
auditions for both US and Australian projects
including TERRA NOVA (FOX/DREAMWORKS),
THE PACIFIC (HBO, DREAMWORKS & PLAYTONE)
, WOLVERINE ORIGINS (FOX), NARNIA:VOYAGE
OF THE DAWN TREADER (FOX), DON'T BE
AFRAID OF THE DARK (MIRAMAX), MATCHING
JACK (CASCADE FILMS), RED DOG (WOSS FILM
GROUP) and the award winning EAST WEST 101
(SBS) series 1, 2. & 3. He has also worked
extensively with actors during US pilot season.
In addition, coming from an acting background,
he can provide important insights to the
casting/audition process from both sides of the
fence.

The workshops will run for 5 1/2 hours (incl 30
min lunch break) with numbers strictly limited to
15 per class. Participants will be given
individually chosen scenes and a character brief
in advance, matched to their level of experience
using both US and Australian scenes.
Each actor will be given the opportunity to work
one on one with Dave on the prepared scene
and learn from watching the other actors doing
their scenes.
The auditions will be recorded and then used as
a reference for our records.
In addition to the specific work on auditions in a
relaxed, friendly environment the workshop will
also cover how the casting process works, the
relationship between producers/directors/casting
& actors, audition techniques and approaches,
preparation, what we look for, taking the
pressure off, showreels, promoting and
marketing yourself as an actor, false
expectations and more. There will be a question
and answer session (as well as the opportunity
to ask questions throughout the workshop) - no
question too silly. We may even have some fun
- you're in this industry because you love it - it
shouldn't be torture!

Applications for the 2012 Diploma of Screen
Acting February 2012 intake are now open and

This Government Accedited Diploma provides
intense training in the unique acting skills and

today's Film & TV industry. Due to the fact that
theatre is also an important part of an actor's
career, the Diploma also covers theatre training
as well as the technical requirements an actor
needs in Post Production. The Screenwise
Diploma comprises of 14 Units of Core Subjects
and One Elective, giving students the
opportunity to excel in their preferred area.

Based on the 'Roberts Method', the Course
mixes a strong academic element with a hard-
nosed professionalism offering current industry
working professional actors, directors and
casting consultants as tutors. Students are
exposed to behind the scenes tricks of the trade
and are offered an invaluable insight into the
vast professional experience of some of
Australia's top names, such as Jeremy Lindsay

This course is the first of its kind in Australia.
You will be taken through the latest US acting
craft methodologies with Vic Trevino and then
directly implement the techniques that you have

This unique course is team-taught and will focus
on what the actor needs to successfully

First Break Film Funding and Support 27 Oct 2011 - 20 Jan 2012

First Break is for emerging filmmakers*. The
First Break agreement will be exclusively
between the director and Metro Screen. The
applicant may be either the writer / director or a
director and writer team where the director has
been assigned all rights to the script to be
developed and produced through the First Break
program.

Ten projects of up to 10 minutes duration will be
selected with three places awarded to applicants
from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island descent,
three places for applicants from a multicultural
background and one place awarded to an
applicant from regional NSW**. Drama, doco,
animation, series pilot, experimental, cross-
platform will be considered.

*Both the writer and director must not have a
produced screen credit in their respective roles,
that has been released, broadcast or screened
at a recognised film festival.

Popcorn Taxi - The Burning Man - v
Burning Man is the reckless, sexy, funny,
moving and ultimately life-affirming story of
Tom, a British chef in a Bondi restaurant, who
seems to have decided there are no longer any
rules he needs to obey.

Whatever Tom is up to, his actions seem to be
tolerated by those around him. As Tom
descends into darkness, fragments of a different
story begin to emerge. All the women in his
world are trying in their own, very different
ways to help put him back together.

The film stars Matthew Goode, Bojana
Novakovic, Essie Davis, Kerry Fox, Rachel
Griffiths and Jack Heanly and was written and
directed by Jonathan Teplitzky.

anniversary event kicking off in one week`s

Hi Everyone

I have had a busy few weeks, doing lots of
auditions for commercials.
Heaps of fun always.

On Friday the casting director grabbed me and
begged me to get some more actors the
shrinking talent pool. So I will be opening up
the books again for a select few. Stay tuned.

So all you musical 8-14yr olds, this is your
chance, the details are on the casting board.

Screen NSW has announced another $1.66m
investment in eight projects that will help
contribute to $22.5m of production expenditure
happening in Aus over the next few months.

Two new TV series, a feature film, three
telemovies and two factual programs are the
most recent investment decisions by Screen
NSW. One of the Telemovies is the story of
MABO and I was at an audition up in QLD when
they were looking for Torres Strait Islanders for
heaps of roles. It was a very exciting time at
the casting office.

Brisbane Underground Film Festival 2011

The 2011 Brisbane Underground Film Festival
(BUFF) program was announced today, with
seven diverse and colourful feature films
screening from 13 October at Brisbane
Powerhouse.

Festival highlights include Vacation!, an
incredible psychotropic beach party film
containing the best use of a blender in cinema
history, Profane, an experimental look at a
dominatrix's struggle with her Islamic faith, and
Charlie Casanova, a clever drama about a fast-
talking sociopath made for under ?1000.

Closing out the festival is Hobo with a Shotgun,
a lurid grindhouse rollercoaster guaranteed to
draw a large crowd and give them plenty of
thrills and decapitations.

BUFF opens with a tour documentary on feminist
electronic band Le Tigre, showcasing their live
performances with entertaining interviews and
backstage footage. Other documentaries include
Grant Morrison: Talking With Gods, on the
charismatic and inspiring creator of comic series
The Invisibles, and Shut Up Little Man!, the story
of two alcoholics whose hilarious arguments
became a viral pop-culture phenomenon when
they were tape-recorded by their neighbours.

Hi Guys

I am celebrating with much joy after fixing my
internet line. Every time my phone rang the
internet went down. All due to a "Splitter" that I
took off when I got a new phone - oh about a
year ago!! Any way, the simple joy of having a
splitter - who would have thought. I might be a
little friendlier to those telemarketers that ring
me constantly during the day. ( or I might not!)

I got a note from Casting Dir Dave Newman this
week about some courses for kids to teens he
is running through the next school hols. All the
info is below but he is a great teacher so don't
miss out on this one. I first met Dave when he
was teaching with Denise at Screenwise. He is a
busy casting director with Christing King now so
a very handy person to know!.

I have been having a chat with an actor about
"fees" when joining an agency. Generally you
are responsible for providing your own headshot
but you will be expected to join the online
casting services such as AT2 and Showcast.
This actor said he was asked to pay $250 up
front plus had to have his photo's redone -
when he already had photos.

Plenty of traps for young players my friends. I
paid $500 for photo's in my early days and the
only time I every saw my agent again was when
they were being chased on A Current Affair.

ABC Announces new Kids Show - Resistance
ABC Children's TV announced its biggest budget
children's live action series at $14m would take
up residency at the South Australia Film
Corporation's new Adelaide Studios, opened
today.

Resistance, a co-production between Australia's
Persistence Productions and Canada's
Shaftesbury Films, the 26◊30 minute series will
screen on ABC3 in Australia and YTV in Canada
in late 2012. Shooting will begin in September
2011, for 23 weeks.

Resistance is the story of the fate of humankind
in the hands of a small group of brilliant teenage
resistance fighters. Armed with technology,
beyond the cutting edge, and trained by
mysterious young billionaire, they're our last
line of defence against an alien invasion.
Produced by Andrew Dillon and Lesley Parker, it
is executive produced by Gary Kurtz who has
Star Wars and the Empire Strikes Back among
his producing credits.

Kim Dalton, Director of ABC TV said in a
statement, "Resistance will add to our already
strong line up of live-action children's dramas
series such as Dance Academy, My Place and
Dead Gorgeous."

Adelaide Studios CEO Richard Harris told
Encore, it was the exact kind of production the
studios were looking to attract.

Resistance is one of 21 children's productions on
the 2011 slate for the ABC. It will employ over
450 cast and crew in addition to involving
around 500 ancillary services and businesses
such as accommodation, transport, sets, and
wardrobe.

King Casting for over 5 years and has been
personally involved in thousands of auditions for
both US and Australian projects including TERRA
NOVA (FOX/DREAMWORKS), THE PACIFIC (HBO,
DREAMWORKS & PLAYTONE) , WOLVERINE
ORIGINS (FOX), NARNIA:VOYAGE OF THE DAWN
TREADER (FOX), DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE
DARK (MIRAMAX), MATCHING JACK (CASCADE
FILMS), RED DOG (WOSS FILM GROUP) and the

Participants will be given individually chosen
scenes and a character brief in advance,
matched to their age, some scenes may require
an accent (which we will work on in the class),
we will let you know in advance if an accent is
required.

Each actor will be given the opportunity to work
one on one with Dave on the prepared scene
and learn from watching the other young actors
doing their scenes.

The auditions will be recorded and then used as
a reference for our records.
Due to copyright we aren't able to provide
participants with a copy of the auditions.

In addition to the specific work on auditions in a
relaxed, friendly environment, the workshop will
also cover how the casting process works,
audition techniques and approaches,
preparation, what we look for and more. There
will be time to ask questions - no question too
silly. We may even have some fun - we want to
explore how to have fun in an audition so it isn't
like going to the dentist!

Script Developers Initiative

Applications are now open for Screen Australia's
popular Script Factory program, featuring two
workshops which will provide high-quality
training in script analysis and development.

Returning for a fifth time due to popular
demand, the Script Developers Initiative is a
three-day intensive practical workshop
specifically aimed at professionals working in a
development role, as well as applicants whose
professional commitment is finding and working
with screenwriters. Screen Australia is also
offering a two-day extension workshop entitled
Wrestling the Redraft, which will be offered
exclusively to past alumni of the Script
Developers Initiative.

Participants in the Script Developers Initiative
will be introduced to a structured approach of
assessing scripts and preparing a development
strategy. By examining produced screenplays
and reading early work by new screenwriters,
participants will consider what makes a good
screen story and learn to recognise
screenwriting talent.

Screen Australia's Script Factory program is a
partnership with development training pioneer
the UK Script Factory to assist professionals
involved in the development side of filmmaking
to hone their skills in a practical environment.
The Australian workshops are designed to
enable practitioners with high-level story-
analysis skills to focus on the nuts and bolts of
script development and to communicate
constructively with writers.

Screen Australia will select 14 applicants to
participate in the Script Developers Initiative
and 18 past alumni of Script Factory for
Wrestling the Redraft. The workshops will take
place from Monday 24 October to Friday 28
October 2011 in Sydney.

Applications for both workshops close on Friday
9 September 2011. Successful applicants will be
announced in early October 2011.

me. Most people are surprised that we are
actually here, real people, and not an automatic
email service. I wanted to pass on some
feedback from this week, it is great to know that
we are able to help people along.

Hi Lee
I just read "So you want to be an actor". It was
good to read about what your web site is all
about, getting started, finding agents an all the
other stuff. I was also very good to read Matt
Normans story, he sounds like an amazing
bloke.

I want to be an actor so I walked into an agent's
office in Broadbeach about September/October
last year and signed up as an extra (I didn't
know there was extras and actors, I thought it
was the same thing). I got my first job about a
week ago. It was a crowd scene of 200 extras.
It is not all the agents fault that I have not got
work as since I joined I have spent some time
working in NZ (not acting), but there is a lot of
stuff the agent could have made me aware of,
but didn't.

He told me that I shouldn't just drop in to his
office unannounced and that I should make an
appointment to see him or his assistant every 3
months or so. This sounds like a long time
between drinks to me. After reading Mats story
I must say that the way he does it is how I
imagined it to be.

I think I will be visiting your site regularly as I
found it to be very informative.

Yes, Actor Matt Normans story is amazing and
out there. You can see his story on the QOS
DVD series. He also has a tutorial in the
members area. Matt was one of our first
interviews ever, he is an actor that supports his
family and of course, now branches out into
producing.

The Australian Film Festival (AFF) is now
welcoming submissions for its 2012 festival, held
from 7 to 18 March 2012. Now in its third year,
the AFF is a highlight on Australia's film festival
calendar, continuing to grow year to year in
both size and stature. To showcase your work at
the festival, send through your Australian
Features, Documentaries, Short Films and
scripts.

Based in the iconic Randwick Ritz Cinema, the
festival promises to deliver an inclusive program
with an array of film screenings and events. The

aspiring filmmakers out there.

The 2012 AFF is a fantastic opportunity to have

AFTRS Program update - online course and animation in Far North Queensland

Upcoming courses at AFTRS including the online
Screenwriting for Film course, which will
introduce participants to the fundamentals of
creating an industry standard feature film script.
The course comprises 10 modules with a variety
of written assignments and collaborative
activities. It is held from 15 August to 19
October 2011, and more information can be

Working in conjunction with UMI Arts in Cairns,
AFTRS Indigenous Program brought together a
number of lino-cut print artists from several
centres in Far North Queensland for an
animation workshop. The artists were introduced
to computer based frame by frame animation
techniques over the course of the first
introductory week, and completed four short
animations, based on their own artworks, by the
end of the week.

Top Short Films to delight audiences AS PART
OF NATIONAL TOUR

Prizewinning films and outstanding favourites
from this year`s St Kilda Film Festival`s Top 100
Shorts will soon be enjoyed by audiences
outside of St Kilda as part of a national tour
which kicks off next week.

Visiting major cities and rural towns - the St
Kilda Film Festival tour will ensure that more film
buffs will have the opportunity to view this
year`s exceptional entrants from Australia`s
largest short film competition.

Straight from taking the festival`s top honour
for Best Short Film and the richest cash prize in
Australian short film is The Kiss, directed by
Ashlee Page and produced by Sonya Humphrey.
The film follows the story of two teenage girls,
fuelled by alcohol and hormones, whose fun
night out takes a dangerous turn when they
become trapped in a water tank. Ashlee Page
also picked up the Best Director award for the
film.

This year`s tour program also features a
showcase of Australian talent: Nash Edgerton
presents his new short Bear written by David
Michod (Animal Kingdom), while Nadine Garner
makes directorial debut with festival favourite
After Glow. This moving film follows the story of
a young woman in post World War II Australia
as she meets her forbidden love to tell him she
has not terminated her pregnancy.

These films, along with other festival winners
and crowd favourites will screen each

Casting for the action/th riller feature film THE
CURE is now underway! The film will be shot in
Wellington, New Zealand during the month of
November.

The film is about a young female researcher
whose life is in danger when she discovers the
pharmaceutical company she works for had
developed a cure for cancer many years earlier.
They haven't released it because that would
destroy their chemotherapy drug sales. She
must now escape and release the cure to world
while the company tries to stop her.

The Panorama Pirates, a football team from
Adelaide travel to Sydney to celebrate the end
of the rugby season. They let loose on Sydney
with the aim of drinking 10,000 beers in one
very wild weekend. From the Friday night pub
crawl to the casino on Saturday and serious
drinking on Stupid Sunday, the camaraderie is
fierce but the final beer packs a punch.

10,000 Beers is an exciting and confronting new
Australian work exploring masculinity, sport and

His latest production of the musical No Way to
Treat a Lady plays 13 October to 13 November
2011.

Darlinghurst Theatre Company is seeking to
raise $10,000 for the development and staging
of the musical. We are seeking 20 passionate
individuals, couples, groups or businesses to
donate $500 and become Production
Ambassadors. Production Ambassadors will
have the unique opportunity to be involved in
the creative development process of a musical
directed by Stephen Colyer from the first note to
the final curtain.

Stephen Colyer is a graduate of VCA, The
Australian Ballet School and NIDA and has
directed many successful shows at Darlinghurst
Theatre Company including, Fit to be Tied
(2002), Dying City (2007) and Boston Marriage
(2007). He also directed and choreographed
Hello Again (2008) and Kiss of the Spider
Woman (2010). He has worked as resident
director on Dirty Dancing, The Full Monty The
Musical, The Rocky Horror Show and Cabaret.
On behalf of Sam Mendes (American Beauty,
Bond 23), he was entrusted to direct Cabaret in
Madrid, Seoul and Paris. He is currently the
rehearsal director for ABC TV's Dance Academy.

No Way to Treat a Lady is a comic musical that
follows Christopher 'Kit' Gill, a failed and
unknown actor, who turns his hand to murder to
become famous. Appropriating the serial murder
crime genre using wit and brilliantly crafted
show tunes, No Way to Treat a Lady is based on
the 1964 novel and '68 film by screen writing
guru and novelist, William Goldman (The
Princess Bride). It won the prestigious Richard
Rogers Grant and was nominated for two Outer
Critics Circle Awards. Book, music and lyrics
writer Douglas J Cohen, has recently been
awarded the prestigious Fred Ebb Award for
Musical Theatre Songwriting.

Screenwriting for Film - Online
August 13 - October 19
(Mondays and Wednesdays, 7pm - 9pm)

This fully online course will introduce
participants to the fundamentals of creating an
industry standard feature film script. The course
comprises ten modules with a variety of written
assignments and collaborative activities.
Participants will need to dedicate at least 10
hours per week to 2◊2hr on-line chat sessions,
screenplay reading, film viewing and written
assignments.

Funding for Feature Films = Work for Actors

Screen Australia has announced a round of
development funding for eight feature films.

Included in the funding is Bruce Beresford's
Banjo & Matilda, as well as films by directors
Adam Elliot, Nadia Tess, Eddie Martin and
Richard Lowenstein, and investment in writers
Alice Addison, Mark Herman and Glenda
Hambly.

Adam Elliot (Mary & Max) will write and direct
Ernee, an animated adventure romance,
produced by Peter Kaufmann and executive
produced by Brian Rosen and Bryce Menzies.

Two musical biopics were also funded. Bon
Scott, written by Sophie Edelstein and directed
by Eddie Martin will tell the story of AC/DC
legend Bon Scott, while Michael, written and
directed by Richard Lowenstein (He Died with a
Felafel in his Hand), will tell the story of Michael
Hutchinson.

Also included in the funding are two coming of
age stories, The Diary of Jimmy Porter and
Julian Corkle is a Filthy Liar. The first is based
on a novel by Christine Harris.
Julian Corkle is a Filthy Liar is based on a novel
by DJ Connell, written by Mark Herman and
produced by Marian Macgowan and Sarah
Radclyffe.
Secret Sisters is a family film written by Glenda
Hambly and produced by David Rapsey and
Moira Moss about five girls who have their
friendship tested by a school musical.
Lastly, Under is a suspenseful drama written by
Alice Addison (The Hunter) about a diver
searching for a missing girl who might be his
daughter, who might have been murdered and
he wonders does the killer want him dead as
well?

WA Feature Film Starts Production
Sam Worthington's Drift will employ 70 WA
locals.
Due to begin shooting next week, surf drama
Drift, depicting the 1960s and '70s surf
communities that helped to create an
international youth lifestyle will employ over 70
WA cast and crew.

Directed by Morgan O'Neill and Ben Nott, the
film will star Myles Pollard (Wolverine, McLeod's
Daughters) and Zavier Samuel (Twilight Eclipse,
The Loved Ones) as the Kelly Brothers alongside
Sam Worthington (Avatar, Clash of the Titans,
Terminator Salvation) as a travelling surf
photographer and filmmaker.

"The story is about the birth of the relationship
between Australian surf culture and global youth
culture that still resonates around the globe
today. The wandering surf lifestyle is now the
mystical 'dream life' for many, but in the early
days the quest for freedom was a perilous and
uncertain journey."

The six week shoot is spread across the rugged
Western Australian coastline to visit famous surf
towns Margaret River, Yallingup, Cape
Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin among other
locations.

CHRISTINE KING CASTING - 2011 CASTING & AUDITION WORKSHOPS

Christine King Casting will be holding two
Sydney audition workshops on Saturday 6th &
Sunday 7th August 2011 at our office and
studio. These workshops will cover all aspects of
casting and the audition process.

Dave Newman, who has been a casting
associate at Christine King Casting for over 5
years, will conduct the workshops. Dave has
been personally involved in thousands of
auditions for both US and Australian projects
including TERRA NOVA (FOX/DREAMWORKS),
THE PACIFIC (HBO, DREAMWORKS & PLAYTONE)
, WOLVERINE ORIGINS (FOX), NARNIA:VOYAGE
OF THE DAWN TREADER (FOX), DON'T BE
AFRAID OF THE DARK (MIRAMAX), MATCHING
JACK (CASCADE FILMS), RED DOG (WOSS FILM
GROUP) and the award winning EAST WEST 101
(SBS) series 1, 2. & 3. He has also worked
extensively with actors during US pilot season.
In addition, coming from an acting background,
he can provide important insights to the
casting/audition process from both sides of the
fence.

Each actor will be given the opportunity to work
one on one with Dave on the prepared scene
and learn from watching the other actors doing
their scenes.

The auditions will be recorded and then used as
a reference for our records.

In addition to the specific work on auditions in a
relaxed, friendly environment the workshop will
also cover how the casting process works, the
relationship between producers/directors/casting
& actors, audition techniques and approaches,
preparation, what we look for, taking the
pressure off, showreels, promoting and
marketing yourself as an actor, false
expectations and more. There will be a question
and answer session (as well as the opportunity
to ask questions throughout the workshop) - no
question too silly. We may even have some fun
- you're in this industry because you love it - it
shouldn't be torture!

Exciting Impulse workshops for Actors & WRITERS!
Following the success of his Sydney workshops
last year, Scott Williams (Artistic Director of
London's 'The Impulse Company') will be
returning to our shores this August with 4
exciting workshops for Actors & WRITERS!

Scott's work, based in The Meisner Technique,
teaches actors how to get out of their heads and
provides them with real, practical tools for 'living
truthfully under a given set of circumstances.'
After studying with Sandford Meisner himself
Scott has been teaching this work for over 25
years to actors all over Europe, The States and
Asia, and we are very excited that he has
recently added Australia to the list.

His work with Writers employs the Impulse
Writing techniques of noted playwright Stuart
Spencer. The focus of this work is on creating
actable, exciting material that really comes off
the page. This will be demonstrated only too
well at the end of workshop Showcase when the
writer's will be able to see their work brought to
life by Impulse Actors. Scott's work with writers
has drawn amazing feedback from well-
respected playwrights such as Hilary Bell- "It
