Latest News Featured Article Casting Board Film Competitions Select State

< /a>

Hi Guys

Just have to get this notice out quick as there are some urgent castings on the board.

I often get asked how do I build up my CV to get the paid speaking roles and short film work is definately the way to go.

There is a great TVC casting on the board as well, this is a great opportunity to get experience.

OTHER BIG NEWS!!
The guys from TVI are brining out one of the biggest TV Commercial Casting Directors from LA.

This is a rare opportunity for Australian Actors to work in Melbourne or Sydney for three full days with two of the most respected Los Angeles Casting Directors. Actors come to Los Angeles for success in Feature Films and TV. In addition, Commercials are the easiest way to earn a SAG union card and to find an agent who will sponsor international actors.

These sessions will give you inside tips to working in American studio and independent films, TV series and Commercials. Both of these casting directors have auditioned thousands of actors and have given their first break to many of them.

A Few Best Men - Filming At Fox Studios
A Few Best Men, is a strong broad comedy about a group of British lads coming here to marry off their mate to an Australian girl. Strong, broad mayhem ensues.

This is a fish-out-of-water film, but - even more basically - it is a wedding picture, well adapted to the international market because of the culture clash.

Originally, the film was announced for Queensland, but has moved south. "The script was written for Queensland in terms of locale, but we did find an ideal location in the Blue Mountains which offered some unique and dramatic visual elements.

So the picture will settle into Fox. Pre-production starts in September, shooting in October for eight weeks, with two weeks in the Blue Mountains. Post, for which they don't yet have a company, will take place in the new year, with Cannes as a target.

More info on production and casting in the members area.

Director of Lovec oblakov (Cloud Catcher) will shoot soon in Australia.
Miha Knific of Ljubljana (Slovenia), the first international winner of the Show-Fest International 2010 Best Film award, will be travelling to Australia later this year to take advantage of the in-kind production support he has won.

Opportunities in the voiceover industry
Do you know about the increasing opportunities available today for voiceover artists?

Do you need to know how to find people to provide voiceovers for your films/animation/trailers?

On Tuesday August 31st AT2 and Open Channel have an event you can't afford to miss:

Mirren Lee, expert voice coach (http://mirrenlee.com/)
Who will talk about the myriad of new opportunities available in the area of voiceover work and what you need to do to get started.

This is a FREE event for AT2 and Open Channel members - click this link to register http://voiceover.doattend.com/

Here's what Mirren has to say about these exciting new opportunities:

"The new era of online voice overs mean actors can make money from around the world. Because of the ease of hiring someone from a site, a small company might do so for their telephone messages for $200 - but the job probably only took 30 minutes to record and send in. Or they might hire someone off their demo, so the actor doesn't even need to send in an audition sample. Then there are the long form narration jobs, IVR radio imaging ongoing contracts, and big clients who pay commensurate with their status. It's a complete free for all, with the actor making the decision what to negotiate,"

"With online voice-overs, they will be offered the chance to audition every single day for jobs around the world. Anyone can go to the sites, and listen to the demos on offer - there are several well known Australian voices that are using them already."

"There are many wonderful benefits as a result of getting into this area of work, but one of the main ones is that it gives actors something to do every day with their skills."

Once again, we'll also have a networking activity, with prizes for the those who get involved!
