Quiet On Set Newsletter 02 2nd February 2011
Latest NewsFeatured ArticleCasting BoardFilm CompetitionsSelect State

Hi Guys

Well to any of you readers who work for Telstra - cover your ears..... "Bloody Telstra!!!'.

There - that feels better.
Last month, Telstra did a server update which means that they move the storage of QOS to
another system. Called a MIGRATION!. Well after they do that - down goes my site and I
share the frustration of all of you who try to add info, or subscribe and get a crashed/error
message.

Gosh it is so frustrating, and they won't call you, you just get these emails from the big
wide yonder of the nether nether from a help desk somewhere in cyber space. Drives me
completely and totally nuts with frustration so bear with me. Hopefully will be sorted soon.

Here is an updated newsletter that I have been able to get out - I THINK!!. Lots of casting
notices on the board, that have been updating, despite the error message saying they
aren't. Work that one out.

How are all the new year plans going for your acting careers. I have been doing a lot of
filming lately, doing some TVC's and promo's for YouTube etc.
I can't tell you the importance of getting the right talent. If the person is just not right for
the job or experienced enough, it can take all day to film. If the casting is right and you
get an experienced actor, the job is easy and the editing is easy. Little technical things like
allowing a breathing space from action and holding the gaze, smile, look until you hear
CUT!. An inexperienced actor looks away as soon as they have delivered their lines etc, or
moves to much and then asks " How was that?" Totally not on.

Guys if you want a career as an actor - you MUST MUST MUST do a basic level of training
to learn how to work towards camera!.

Plenty of great courses around but the first place you can start is to pick up a copy of one
of our HOW TO Ezines from the book store - I have been getting orders through so that
section of the site MUST be working lol!!!
At only $14.95 each - a very very cheap way to start.

Have a great week.

Lee
