Spring into action and get ready for more fun than you can poke a camera at! The world's largest short film festival, Movie Extra Tropfest will premiere the top 16 films selected for 2009 on Sunday 22 February 2009, across various locations in Australia. The Tropfest Signature Item (TSI) for 2009 is 'SPRING'. Look carefully for 'SPRING'as filmmakers use ingenious ways to incorporate the TSI into the film.

Now in its 17th year, Movie Extra Tropfest promises to be an even bigger and better entertainment experience for both festival-goers and home viewers nationwide by delivering an exciting festival program complete with live music, onsite activities, red carpet highlights and our first-ever live Movie Extra television broadcast. All this leading up to the much anticipated film screenings and awards ceremony!

Movie Extra Tropfest is a free, public event screened nationally via simultaneous satellite broadcast in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra, Brisbane, Perth, and for the first time this year, Surfer's Paradise on the Gold Coast.

Discover the voice artist within and learn the techniques to get the best out of your voice and get a head start in the voice over industry.

A variety of lecturers offering professional voice expertise in the fields of advertising, radio, voiceovers and commercial production will lead this practical course in real studio conditions. This course will equip you with the techniques required to begin your career in the competitive, often lucrative, world of Voice overs.

By the end of this course students will have had the opportunity to:

Learn to use correct vocal and microphone techniques
Describe the industry requirements for Voiceover artists
Mark up and rework scripts to accommodate change in style, time or grammar
Interpret and deliver straight, character and narrative read voice reads within an allotted time
Accept and incorporate direction from a studio producer

BRENDON BOSS - RADIO ANNOUNCER, NOVA BRISBANE
Brendon 'Bossy' Boss started his radio career in Community Radio in Sydney. He completed a Graduate Diploma in Commercial Radio Broadcasting at AFTRS in 2003 . Whilst studying at AFTRS, he worked on the CasaNova Team for Nova 969 in Sydney
as well as presenting their Saturday Night
dance show RUSH.

His first fulltime radio gig was at 102.9
Hot Tomato when they launched on the Gold Coast in 2003. After two years on the Coast he then moved to Nova106.9 in Brisbane where he is still part of the On Air Lineup .

Bossy won an ACRA in 2005 for best New
On Air Talent . He also won a Goldie
(QLD Radio) for Best New On Air Talent.
Bossy also has experience in audio production,
voiceovers, video editing and television presenting.


MITCH SMART- RADIO ANNOUNCER, 96FIVE FM BRISBANE
Mitch Smart embarked on the radio life at Byron Bay's Community station. He has completed a Graduate Diploma in Commercial Radio Broadcasting at AFTRS. At the same time he worked as a Producer & Floater for 2UE's Sky Radio Network. After which he went west to Dubbo, tackling varying roles from Mitch the Star Stuntman on StarFM to Program Director at ZooFM.

Mitch has received a Raward for Best Achievement in Production (Country) and several ACRA nominations including Best Program Director and Best Station Produced Comedy Segment.

He now works casually as an Announcer & Consultant for Brisbane's 96five.

Eric Bana cast himself in his ultimate role in LOVE THE BEAST. Bana's directorial debut explores the importance of his 25-year-long affair with his first car - a Ford XB Falcon Coupe, known as "The Beast."

Obsessed with cars and racing since he was a child, Eric takes us on a journey that spans a lifetime and culminates in The Beast's untimely death in one of the world's most dangerous races, The Targa Tasmania. With guidance from three life-long friends as well as self-confessed petrol heads Jay Leno, Jeremy Clarkson and Dr Phil, Bana examines the significance of the bond that is formed around a common passion.
